Water :

There are many organisms which can survive in wet environments and in water lines/ water dispensers/ ice machines/ taps/ Spas/ tanks/ water tubs/ sinks/ drains/ etc.. So such pathogens can spread from such sites to infecting people and patients.

There are organisms which can survive in the water reservoirs associated with medical equipments like humidifiers, endoscopes, suction machines, nebulizers, ventilators etc. and can infect the surroundings through contact to patients if not maintained or disinfected properly.
